We use your email address to communicate with you about your account. We won't send you any spam or other advertisements. We also will not sell your email address or share it with any third-parties. We may send you emails regarding your account or device(s). This may include auto alerts from the app about your lost or stolen device. It may include location data or other personal information intended to help you find your phone. This may also include marketing from us about new products and services we offer.

Full Name

We only ask for your full name for account reference purposes. This includes greetings by the system when you login, or a way for us to address you by name in emails.

Location Data

The app may collect your device's location data at any time for many reasons. This data may get stored on your local device, emailed to you, or uploaded to your account. The primary purpose of gathering location data is for you to track your device when it becomes lost or stolen.

Phone Number

The app may gather your phone number. This is usually added to an email that is sent to you from a device. It helps you identify what device on your account is sending the email. We do not sell your phone number or share it with any third-parties.

Contacts and call log

The app may collect and upload your phones contacts and call log to your account. This is only done upon request from within your account. This data is encrypted before, during, and after being uploaded to your account. This data is never sold or shared with any third-parties. Only you can access this data from your account.

Text Messages (Side-load app only)

The app can read your incoming text messages. It does this for the purpose of being able to track your phone via a text from another cell phone. Your text messages are not stored within the app, nor are they ever uploaded to our servers. They are simply read and scanned for an attention word by the app's systems.

Pictures

The app may take pictures with your phone's camera, either on-demand (when you request it) and when certain triggers happen (like failed screen lock attempts). These pictures are uploaded to our servers so you may view them via the special link sent to you. This link may be sent via text or email or within Commander. Pictures that are uploaded are deleted from our servers within 7 days. Pictures may be stored on your local device as well. These are never deleted by the app.

The app may use wifi data to help get a location, or upload the names of nearby wifi to your account.

IP Address

The app may use your device's IP address in order to help get a location, or to record records of when and where your device communicated with our servers.

Advertiser ID Number

Every Android phone has a unique number used for targeted advertising. We may use this information to deliver you targeted ads based on your age, gender, location, etc.

What we do with it

All data is either stored locally on your device or on our secure web-servers. The primary purpose of collecting this information is to assist you in finding your lost phone.

Sharing data with third-parties

Advertising

We may share some of the information we gather with third-parties for the purpose of advertising. This may include your device's advertiser ID number, age, gender, and location. This infomation is used for targeted advertising. No other personal information is shared with third-parties, such as your name or email address. If you wish to opt-out of this information being shared please contact us at support@wheresmydroid.com or read more here. You'll still get ads, they just won't be target for you. Lets face it though, if your going to see ads, wouldn't you rather see ads that are relevant? Maybe you'll see something you actually want. Please keep in mind that most of our revenue comes from advertising. Without it we couldn't support the app.

Cuebiq: In addition to other information described in this policy, we may collect and share precise location information through methods such as mobile “SDKs” by means of our partnership with Cuebiq and it's partners, which helps cover the costs of developing and maintaining this app and related services thereof. This information may be used by itself, aggregated, or combined with mobile identifiers , and may be shared with other parties, for purposes related to advertising, attribution (e.g., measuring ad performance), analytics and research. You can withdraw your consent to having your location data collected by changing the settings on your device (note that certain services may lose functionality as a result). You can also activate your device's opt-out settings which will: (i) tell advertisers to not use your in-app information from that device for purposes of collecting and serving interest-based advertising and (ii) inform Cuebiq to halt further data collection and sharing from that device. Additionally, you can opt-out from the Cuebiq app directly (iOS, Android).

Outlogic: Outlogic collects and passes to third parties a variety of information for use as described below:

What's Collected: Precise location information (such as your device GPS coordinates), relative location information (from WiFi signals or Bluetooth Low Energy devices in your proximity, for example), device-based advertising identifiers, information about your mobile device such as type of device, operating system version and type, device settings, time zone, carrier and IP address.

When We Collect It: When the app is in use or running in the background. How We Use and Share It: We and other third parties may use the information (a) to customize ads in this or other apps (for instance, if your device is often located at or near music venues, you might receive offers for music tickets); (b) to measure effectiveness of those ads; (c) for disease prevention and research, security, anti-crime and law enforcement; or (d) for market, civic or other research regarding aggregated traffic patterns (for instance, a company that analyzes shopping trends might want to learn whether more or fewer devices are seen near malls or in other shopping districts).

How To Opt Out: To opt-out of Outlogic's data collection, (1) follow the instructions in Outlogic's Privacy Policy, or (2) for a platform-based opt-out of interest-based or “personalized” advertising, go to your device settings and opt out of interest-based or personalized advertising (iOS: Settings → General → Privacy → Advertising →Limit Ad-Tracking; Android: Settings → Google → Ads → Opt out of Ads Personalization). You may also prevent location from being collected by this or other apps through your location permission settings. In addition, to limit the use of your Sensitive Personal Information, you may visit the following link: Your Privacy Choices and Opt-Out Rights.

Sense360: For users in North America, our apps may share your device's precise geolocation and other details about your device (like hardware characteristics, a variety of sensor data, and a list of installed third-party applications) with our partner Sense360 on an ongoing basis, including when the apps are closed. This information is sent with the device's advertising identifier or another unique device-specific code. Sense360 may use all of this information for market research and other research regarding aggregated patterns, and as further described in its Privacy Policy, which has more detail on the entire process. For example, Sense360 analyzes restaurant visit trends to better serve its customers' needs. You can use your device settings to (i) disable or limit precise geolocation collection for the entire device (which will affect some device functionality) or just particular apps (which may affect the functionality of this app) and/or (ii) disable or limit use of the advertising identifier (which will block that identifier's transmission to Sense360).

Analytics

We use data collected through the app and website for analytics to better understand how our services are used. For example, we analyze data about your visits to our sites to do things like optimize product design. And we also use data about the ads you interact with to help advertisers understand the performance of their ad campaigns. No personal information such as your name or email address are shared with these third-parties for this purpose. We use a variety of tools to do this, including Google Analytics. When you visit sites that use Google Analytics, Google and a Google Analytics customer may link information about your activity from that site with activity from other sites that use our ad services.

How long we keep it

Your account never expires. We will keep that basic information such as your name, email address, device ID's, and phone number. All other information may be deleted after 24 months. Including location data, contacts and call log. The only exception is pictures taken with the camera feature. These are deleted immediately after transmission, or kept no longer than 7 days.

Right to be forgotten

You have the right to control your data. To remove all data stored about a device you may delete that device from your Commander account. When you delete a device from your account all data associated with that device will be removed from our servers. This is permanent and can not be undone.
